Arnold Huddleston, 77, of Abilene died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Abilene.
Born in Lubbock County, Texas on September 25, 1934, Arnold was the son of Lois (Stanley) and Melvin Huddleston. A lifelong resident of Abilene, he received a degree from Abilene Christian University. He was a semi-retired real estate broker and real estate investor.
Arnold owned and operated the Kim's Drive Inn restaurants here in Abilene with his first wife Benita (Trice) Huddleston and children from 1964 until he closed them in 1980.
He married Melva Ruth Patterson on May 1, 1998.
Arnold is a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. He was an avid domino and forty-two player. He was a member of Abilene Country Club and a golfer. He loved the outdoors, traveling, and being around family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Melva Ruth Huddleston of Abilene; two sons and their wives, Scott Huddleston and Kay of Amarillo, and Mark Huddleston and Bonita of Van Buren, Arkansas; two daughters and their husbands, Nancy Megargee and Barney of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Dana Dutton and Leslie of Van Buren, Arkansas; one sister, Janell Coffey and husband Fred of Abilene; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd. in Abilene. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Huddleston, Larry Shaheen, Leslie Dutton, Barney Megargee, Devin Coffey, and Jeff Hartmankok.
