Anthony Dale Lenhert, 37, died August 30, 2007 in Abilene. A visitation will be Tuesday, September 4, 2007, 6:00-8:00 pm at the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 10:00 am in the Beltway Park Baptist Church Chapel with Pastor David McQueen officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Anthony was born on November 11, 1969 in Athens, Greece to Kenneth Martin and Catherine "Roussos" Lenhert. He moved to the United States in 1974 and lived in Dallas, Texas. He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he lived for 13 years. In 1989, he moved to Salem, Oregon with his family where he lived for 8 years. Anthony graduated from Western Oregon University with a B.S. degree in Clinical Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. He moved to Texas and lived in Corpus Christi and then in Abilene. He was very intelligent and kind. Anthony studied and played classical guitar. He loved foreign languages and people. Anthony was a skier, a skateboarder, a weight lifter, and an avid reader. In 2003, he joined the Navy and served his country as an assistant chaplain in Milton, Florida.
Anthony was a substitute teacher in Abilene and was planning to become a certified teacher soon. He loved God and attended Beltway Park Baptist Church as well as Hope Church of Christ. He was a gentle and kind person who cared for those suffering in this world. Anthony was loved by his family and friends who hope to see him happy in Heaven to praise God together.
Anthony is survived by his parents, Dr. & Mrs. Kenneth Lenhert; his sister, Nikolet Lenhert of Abilene; his brothers, George Lenhert of Ios, Greece and Steven Lenhert of Karls Ruhe, Germany; his grandmother, Nikolet Roussos of Athens, Greece; a nephew, Anestis Lenhert of Abilene and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Greece and the United States. He will be greatly missed.
