Annie Mae Watson

Ann Watson, 82, passed away Friday, February 17, 2006, at a local nursing center. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, February 20, 2006 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Southern Hills Church of Christ Chapel with John Risse and Robert Oglesby, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, Cedar Hill Section. Ann was born on April 18, 1923 in Edna, Texas to Edgar Herrington and Stella (Cox) Herrington. She married Maurice Watson on December 28, 1944 in Colorado City, Texas. She moved to Abilene in 1981 from Lovington, New Mexico. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Maurice Watson in 1999; one sister, Jo Jordan; one brother, Lester Herrington; and one granddaughter, Amber Watson. She is survived by three sons, Del Watson and his wife Rita of Tennessee, Mike Watson and his wife Martha of Tuscola, Ken Watson and his wife Tammy of Wills Point, Texas; three sisters, Nollie Herrington of Clyde, TX, Jean Male of Monte Vista, Colorado, and Nita Ballard of Pearl, TX; seven grandchildren, Lovie Sellers and her husband Seth of Tennessee, Josh Watson of Tennessee, Krysty Reiser and her husband Adam of Missouri, Marly Knapp and her husband Brian of Abilene, Kami Helm and her husband Jeremy of Louisiana, Nickie Helm and her husband Josh of Louisiana, Mikea Grubb and her husband Adam of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Seth Sellers, Josh Watson, Brian Knapp, Adam Grubb, Jeremy Helm, and Adam Reiser. Josh Helm will serve as honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be made to Disability Resources, 3602 North Clack, Abilene, TX 79603 and Hendrick Hospice Care, PO Box 1922, Abilene, TX 79604.
