Annie Louise McCleskey Allen, 96, of Abilene passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013.
A graveside service will be held in Elmwood Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, with Rev. Roy Keith officiating, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. The family will receive guests following the service. Viewing will be Friday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Allen was born in Bronte, Texas, on May 20, 1916, to James and Ida McCleskey. She was a longtime Abilene resident and a member of Fairmont United Methodist Church (later Southwest Drive United Methodist Church) for 66 years. She was devoted to her family and loved volunteering at her church and singing in the church choir.
She was preceded by her husband, Robert L. Allen.
Annie is survived by a son, James Robert Allen of Abilene, a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Larry Conner of Fairview, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
