Annetta "DeLois" Howard, 92, of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 9, 2016 in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be Friday, September 16th at 7:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17th at 10 am at Southern Hills Church of Christ at 3666 Buffalo Gap Road with Danny Minton officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park at 5750 Hwy. 277.
DeLois was born in Jenks, Oklahoma to Ethel and William Davidson on November 5, 1923. She graduated from High School in Kansas City, Missouri and attended business school. DeLois married James Llyndle Howard on November 11, 1943 in Pueblo, Colorado. She worked as a secretary for TWA airlines in Kansas City and Alameda High School in Denver, Colorado. She also worked for years with Jim in the family business, Modern Hardware. She was actively involved in her church, the Republican Party, Colorado Christian Services, Share Colorado, Jeffco Commodity Center, 9 Health Fair, Rocky Mountain Symphony, and a mentoring group for young women. DeLois opened her home often to unwed mothers and people in need of a safe place to live.
DeLois was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jim.
DeLois is survived by her daughters, DeLynda Gray (Will) and Lynette Overcamp (Jim), four grandchildren, Holly Rockwell (Bryon), Casey Overcamp (Kara), Denise Galbraith (Zach), and Bill Gray and 10 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Will Gray, Jim Overcamp, Casey Overcamp, Bill Gray, Bryon Rockwell and Zach Galbraith.
