Anna Claudean Sublett

Anna Claudean Sublett "Sub", 88, of Abilene, went to Glory with the Lord on July 26th, 2017 in Brenham, TX. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00pm Friday, July 28th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 29th, at Broadview Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Wes Terry. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home. Claudean was born in Oplin to Ernest and Oneta Gwin on June 16, 1929. She married John Sublett on August 4, 1950. She worked as a nurse for over 50 years with Saint Ann's, Hendrick Medical Center, and Abilene Bone & Joint Clinic. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her many travels and was a committed volunteer with Meals on Wheels, a Hendrick Auxiliary Volunteer, along with several other charities dear to her heart. She was also an active member and volunteer at Broadview Baptist Church. Claudean was a strong Christian and found enjoyment and peace studying her Bible and furthering her knowledge and relationship with the Lord. Claudean was a proud grandmother and great grandmother cherishing each and every one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Claudean was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband John, and brother in-law Delmon Smith. Claudean is survived by daughter Jana and husband Allen Hall of San Antonio; her sisters Joreta Smith of Lawn and Sylva and husband Leo Dennis of Abilene; Grandchildren: Christi and husband Nathan Wade and their four children Easton, Weston, Nason, and Kaylin of Brenham, Trey Hall and his son Samuel of Dallas and Alejah Hall of San Antonio. A short time ago was July 15, With much of her family there to be seen, She counted those with her And named all those missing, My how this is such a BLESSING! Here in this room together again, She hugged all the children, women and men, And with a smile on her face and peace in her heart "We'll be in GLORY together and never apart!" Memorials may be given to Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 South 27th Street, Abilene, TX 79605.
