Anna Marie Kidwell

Anna Marie Kidwell, 82, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at a local hospital. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2006 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Marie was born on November 10, 1923 in Anson, Texas to Menco and Anna Rice. She grew up in Anson and graduated from Anson High School and then attended Draughn's Business College. Marie worked for Farmers & Merchants Bank and then for the Taylor County Tax Office for 33 years. She married "Bill" Kidwell in 1948. Marie was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where for many years she worked in the nursery. She was also a member of Good Sam's Club "Eager Beaver Chapter". Marie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jerry Rice and two sons, Kenton Kidwell in 2004 and Karl Kidwell at childbirth. She is survived by her husband, Bill Kidwell of Abilene; one sister Jane Shearer and her husband Vernon of Hamlin, Texas; three grandchildren, Tom Kidwell, Peggy Jones and her husband Glenn, Lee Kidwell and his wife Jacqueline; six great-grandchildren and four nephews. Memorials may be made in honor of Marie Kidwell to the donor's favorite charity.
