Anna Lois Ince, of Abilene, passed away Monday, November 20, 2006. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am today at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Father Fred Nawarskas will officiate. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at 12:30 pm at the Abilene Country Club. Lois was the oldest of three daughters, (Lois, Trena and Pattie) born in Lacassine, Louisiana to French Cajun parents Andrew and Eunia (David) Derouen. When you saw Lois' beautiful dark hair and expressive eyes, you knew that she was Cajun and proud of it! Lois met and married Olin Wayne Ince, whom she met at the Chennault Air Force Base in Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1954. Lois is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Mike Ince Sr., of West Virginia; her daughter, Donna Greiner of Plano, Texas; two sisters, Pattie Foster and Trena Hatch both of Lake Charles, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Mike Ince, Jr. of Austin, Heidi Ince of Abilene, Jhett Greiner of Plano; and several nieces and nephews.. Lois's greatest passions were dancing and traveling. Her energetic optimism combined with being a people person gained her many friends. She was a realtor, organizer, seamstress, cajun cook, match maker, and fun to be around. Born under the Pisces sign meant Lois was "easy-going"?would go either direction?just don't push her too far!! Lois was an owner of a 54 unit apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas. She assisted in opening a School for Dyslexia in Shreveport, Louisiana. She also owned and managed 42 rent houses in Abilene, Texas. In Lake Brownwood, Texas, Lois owned and operated and was involved in resort development. She also volunteered for Social Services for 125 Air Force wives in Abilene. She was introduced to the Phoenix Club in May 1990 and was immediately voted in and became the next Party Chairman?a position she held for 13 years; she was President for two years. Until her death, Lois was a working "consultant" and had been a driving force behind the Club's ongoing. Memorials may be made in honor of Lois Ince to the American Cancer Society, 209 South Danville, Building B, Suite 107, Abilene, Texas 79605.
