Anna Ruth Franklin, 89, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016, at her residence.
Born in Elmdale, Texas on November 11, 1926, Anna was the daughter of Maude (Payne) and W. A. Byram. She was a homemaker and a member of Highway 36 Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lannie R. Franklin in 2014; a daughter, Lynn Franklin Hix; her parents; one brother and six sisters.
Anna is survived by two sons, Jimmie Ross Franklin and wife Patricia Ann of Potosi, Texas, and Donald Mac Franklin and wife Ronni of Spring Branch, Texas; a daughter, Kay Wadley-Rose and husband Lee of Greenville, Texas; a brother, Mack Byram and wife Dorothy of Hobbs, New Mexico; two sisters, Wanda Bryant and husband Buddy of Fort Worth, and Faye Hedges of Houston. Survivors also include five grandchildren, Jimmie B. Franklin, Michelle Chrane, Carrie Wadley, Joshua Wadley and Joshua Muth, as well as nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Highway 36 Church of Christ, 10576 State Highway 36 South, 79602, with Greg Melton, Blan Chrane and Billy Berney officiating. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Vannoy, Leon Chrane, Randy Chrane, Blan Chrane, Terry Chrane and Billy Berney.
