Ann Dewayne Britton Perry, 91, of Buffalo Gap, Texas passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2024, at Hendrick Hospice Care Center, Abilene.

Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Buffalo Gap Church of Christ with Brother Kerry Jones officiating. Lunch will precede Memorial Services at 12:00 Noon. Ann Britton Perry was born during the Great Depression, in Roswell, New Mexico, to John and Mae “MeeMaw” Britton on July 10, 1933. They moved to Amarillo, Texas shortly after Ann was born. She attended school in Amarillo and graduated with the Class of 1951. She met a young airman from Buffalo Gap, Texas in July of 1951 and it was love at first sight. She and David Perry were married on November 17, 1951, and she was his darling angel for almost 73 years. A son, David, Jr. was born to the couple, at Amarillo AFB, Texas on July 6, 1953, and another son, James David, joined the family, by adoption, in 1963. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother, and a dedicated volunteer in the cities and towns where they lived. In Abilene and Colorado Springs, during the 1960’s, she was active in the Jaycee Wives programs and Boy’s Clubs of America programs. In the 1970’s and 80’s, she worked for Fuller Travel Agency, in San Antonio, as an administrator and bookkeeper, became an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer, and loved and cared for her grandchildren. Upon retirement in 1995, Ann and David moved back to Buffalo Gap.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, her sister, her son David Jr., her only grandson, and her only granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, her son, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

The Buffalo Gap Cemetery Association was dear to her heart, as was the Buffalo Gap Fire Department. She loved her friends at Buffalo Gap Senior Citizens. Please consider each of them for donations in lieu of flowers.

The family of Ann Perry wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Jonathan Edwards, and to all staff members at Hendrick Emergency on Buffalo Gap Road, Hendricks fifth and sixth floor, and Hendrick Hospice for professional loving care, and we will always remember our wonderful Buffalo Gap Fire Department.
