Ann Andress Holt

d. August 24, 2021

Ann O’Neal Andress Holt was called to be home with her heavenly father on August 24, 2021.  The family invites Ann’s friends and family to honor her with love, laughter and great memories at a gathering at Hamil Family Funeral Home on Sunday, September 19, 2021 beginning at 2:00 pm.

Ann adored working with flowers, and she would have loved to be surrounded by them during her celebration of life. Please feel free to send any type of flower arrangement to the funeral home closer to the day of the service.

Ann was born on August 11, 1936 to Harvey and Beatrice O’Neal.  The family lived for periods of time in Gorman, Breckenridge and Abilene, Texas.  Ann attended Breckenridge High School where she participated in the band and graduated in 1953.  She attended Texas Tech after high school.

Ann worked in Real Estate, Advertising and Interior Design.  However, she excelled and adored her time with Boeing Company where she played an essential role in the process of bringing the B1B Military Avionics Program to Abilene.

Ann O’Neal married in 1955 and had three daughters.  She created a home full of love and warmth for them.  She was known by all for her kindness, beauty and caring nature.  Her world revolved around the nurturing care and profound dedication she had for her family.  Her deep Christian faith kept her involved at Highland Church of Christ along with many other volunteer activities in the Abilene area.  Ann was loved deeply by her girls and all that knew her.

In 1979 Ann married Colonel Guy Holt.  With this marriage her family enlarged quickly with three more children she adored.  Ann and Guy lived in Abilene, California, Maryland and Austin.  They traveled extensively and finally retired in Lakeway, TX.

After retiring in Lakeway, Ann worked at the Lakeway Community Library for many years. She was an integral part of the library’s growth and development.  During her time at the library she participated in the construction and opening of a new Lake Travis Library.  This was an exciting and special project for her.

Ann returned to Abilene after the death of her husband.  She enjoyed rekindling old friendships as well as creating new ones.

Ann was proceeded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Guy Holt.  She is survived by her brother, David O’Neal; her daughter Kim Sloan and her husband Mike of Waco; her daughter Tracy Sosa of Abilene, and her daughter Jill Davis of Austin.  She is also survived by her loving family Brian and Sheila Holt of San Mateo, CA; Miriam and Matt McGhee of Frisco, TX;  and Tony and Kristin Holt of Austin, TX; as well as 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
