Angelene Marion Osborn

1927 — March 18, 2008

On Tuesday, March 18, 2008, Angelene (Angie) Osborn was welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was greeted by her husband William Joe (Oz) Osborn, her dad Thomas Weathers, her mom Vauda Riggs Weathers Grice, her step-father, Charlie (Slim) Grice, her brother Lawrence, her sister Juanita and a host of family and friends. Family members left here waiting to join her are her son Rodger Glenn of Fredericksburg, TX, his wife Susa and their daughter Emily. Her daughter Tamyra (Tammy) Glenn Duke of Abilene, TX, her husband James M. Duke, Jr., and their three children and their families. Granddaughter - Rebecca Duke Meals of Lubbock, TX, her husband Colby and their son (due May 2, 2008), Caleb. Granddaughter - Sarah Duke Hale of Kyle, TX, her husband Jarad and their son (born October 22, 2007) Hunter. Grandson - James Matthew (Matt) Duke of Abilene, TX. And Mom's brother Raymond Weathers of Houston, TX and his family. A native Texan, mom was born in Plainview, March 15, 1927 where she lived until relocating to Goldthwaite. Later the family moved to San Antonio and then settled in Houston. Mom spent the last 25 years of her life being the best grandma ever! In the early 80's she and PawPaw moved to the farm where they became the keepers of the kiddos. On Christmas Eve 1989 PawPaw went to Heaven and in 1993 mom moved to Abilene with her daughter's family where she took over many of the daily chores including cooking, cleaning, taxi driver, disciplinarian, mentor, life coach, soccer, baseball, softball, band, and all around best grandma ever! Her funeral service will be held at Baker Heights Church of Christ, Thursday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Elder Gayle Potter. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas. Interment will be at the historical Tennessee Colony Cemetery, Tennessee Colony, Texas, on Friday, March 21, 2008. Memorials in her honor may be donated to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
