Andrzej Leszek Niebelski

Andrzej L. Niebelski M.D. died peacefully on October 3rd, 2016 at his home in Abilene with his loving wife and family at his side. Andrzej was born on June 16th, 1952 in Wroclaw, Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Medicine in Wroclaw- Poland with M.D. Degree. (1971-1978). He continued with training in Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency in Academy of Medicine in Poznan, Poland and County Hospital in Ostrzeszow Medical Central. He practiced medicine in Poland for 15 years. After moving to United States of America he completed his Pediatric Residency at Seton Hall University, School of Graduate Medical Education in Jersey City, NJ. Dr. Niebelski moved to Abilene in 1997 where he practiced medicine for more than 20 years. His family, friends and patients were his life making himself available to all any time day or night. Dr. Niebelski was known to his colleagues, residents, nurses, and patients as a compassionate, caring physician. He was a loving, inspiring and enduring role model. He was the corner stone for his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandkids Hanna and Andrew), gardening, photography, travel, history and old classic movies. He also enjoyed putting a smile on everyone that he met. Andrzej was always there to help his family and friends with anything they needed from him. Andrzej is survived by his wife Jadwiga of more than 40 years, his son Marcin, his daughter in law Jennifer and his sister Grace Alter, and his loving grandchildren Hanna and Andrew. Andrzej was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and a friend to all. Andrzej was loved and admired by all who had the good fortune of knowing him. He will be remembered as a truly intelligent, caring and remarkable person who touched the lives of so many. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 6th, 2016 from 2 PM-4 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, TX 79606. Father Adam Droll will officiate.
