Allen Roy Kiser
Allen Roy Kiser, 73, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013, in Abilene. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, August 12, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 701 S. Pioneer Drive at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, with Dr. Jeff Reid and Brother Jack Ridlehoover officiating. A private burial with military honors will follow at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
Allen was born November 28, 1939, in Roscoe, Texas to J.R. Kiser and Ellen (Penny) Hair Kiser. He graduated from Brownwood High School and attended Texas Tech University. Allen joined the United States Air Force in 1960, proudly serving his country for twenty years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at (General Dynamics) Lockheed until the company left Abilene. He was a hard-working man who loved his family and enjoyed working with music on the computer. He also enjoyed following the stock market.
Allen was preceded in death by both his parents and all of his aunts and uncles.
Allen is survived by his wife, Dorothy Houston Kiser; his two sons Mark Kiser (wife Toi) and Keith Kiser; his only beloved grandchild, Kristina Kiser; and a granddog, Waddie. He also has one brother, Franklin Dee Kiser (wife Dorothy); two brothers-in-law, Brad Houston and Joe Przybylski; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Houston Doyle (husband Ron); several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Hardin-Simmons University Scholarship Fund, Box 16100, Abilene, TX 79698.
