Aldaphyne McWilliams, 87, formerly of Abilene, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010 in Temple. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, November18, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church, 1010 Cypress Street. Mickey Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
January 19, 1923, Aldaphyne was born the daughter of Charles and Ruby May (Barrett) Spraberry in Dickens County, Texas. She grew up in Spur and graduated from Spur High School in 1940. Aldaphyne married Henry B. McWilliams on February 1, 1941. They owned and operated Texas Refrigeration of Abilene until their retirement. Abilene has been her home since 1954. Aldaphyne was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Ruby Spraberry; her husband, Henry B. McWilliams on July 24, 1999; one sister, Alvarine Gannon in 1999 and her son-in-law, Lyle Fangohr, also in 1999.
Aldaphyne is survived by her daughter, Kay Fangohr of Temple; three sons, Charles L. Mc Williams of Houston, Steven McWilliams and Ben McWilliams, both of Abilene; three grandchildren, Mike Fangohr of Temple, Rhonda Daniels and husband Sheldon also of Temple, Steven McWilliams II and wife Kailin of Melissa; as well as three great-grandchildren, Dustin, Keith and Jordan.
Danny Medulla, David Hunter, Sam Jay, Scott Gray, Clarence Hester, Fernando Silva and Jimmy Higgins will serve as pallbearers.
