Agnes Varner Neill Agnes Varner Neill, 90, of Abilene, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at a local nursing center in Abilene. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden at Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. June 24, 1918, Agnes was born in Cottonwood, Texas to William Brannon Varner and Sally Thompson (Wilkey) Varner. She lived in the Abilene area her entire life. Agnes graduated from Hendrick Nursing School in 1966. She was a member of Southern Hills Church of Christ. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, William Cantley Neill and three brothers. She is survived by two sons, Bill Neill, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Jimmy Neill, of Abilene; six grandchildren: Heather Reeves, Mitch Neill, Jennifer Jones, Debra Neill, Melissa Johnson and Joshua Neill; five great-grandchildren: Jordon Reeves, Kylie Reeves, Taylor Neill, Payton Camron and Landon Camron; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Varner, of Abilene; two nephews, David and Gary Varner, both of Abilene; and two nieces, Dwalah Nelson, of Clyde, and Glenda Touchstone, of Plano. Memorials may be made in honor of Agnes Neill to Christian Homes, 1202 Estates Drive, Abilene, Texas 79602.
