Alpha Omega Wainscott, 85, of Granbury, Texas passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Granbury.
Visitation will be 12 noon to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Granbury Church of God, 1106 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, followed by a graveside service at the Granbury City Cemetery, with pastors Brett Quillin and Lowell Ercanbrack officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.
Omega was born in Yarnaby, Oklahoma to Willard and Yvonne (McMurtrey) Redden on October 22, 1936. She graduated from Jal High School in Jal, New Mexico. She married Sam Wainscott in Jal on May 9, 1964. Omega had a wide array of employment thru the years, she had made custom draperies, assisted in running her parents’ restaurant in Jal, and had also worked for Dillard’s in Fort Worth among several other jobs thru the years.
Omega was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, and sister Sue Scott.
Omega is survived by her two children, Lisa Mercer of Granbury, Alan Wainscott of Abilene; grandson, Joshua Mercer of Tolar; sisters Joy Foster and husband Rod of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Barbara Davis of Burleson; nieces Carla Hines of Midland, Jacqueline Hines of Midland, Heather McGriff of Burleson and her favorite nephew, Craig Davis and wife Toni of Houston; she also has several great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Mercer, Craig Davis, Kadin McGriff, Gene Moore, Chuck Painter, James Lewis, and Jamie Lewis.
Memorials may be given in Omega’s honor to the Granbury Church of God, 1106 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, Texas 76048.
