Biagio "Bill" Faraci, 94, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.
Bill was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph Faraci and Lorenza Indriola on April 8, 1923. He married Rose Messina on November 18, 1942. He worked as a barber in his own business for over 60 years. Bill was a Veteran of World War II and served in the Navy on the USS Hornet CV 12 aircraft carrier from 1941-1946. On the Hornet, he was a gunner and received several medals during his service. He donated part of his Navy uniform to the Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg, Texas. Before his career in the Navy he served two years in the Conservation Corp. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo Gap. Bill was an active member at Rose Park Senior Center for many years and loved making crafts and visiting with everyone. He loved to make people laugh and lived his life using the "laughter is the best medicine" philosophy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rose and all his siblings.
Bill is survived by his children Florence Weiskittel of North Olmstead, Ohio; Mary Vines and husband Terry of Buffalo Gap, Texas; Joe Faraci of Phelan, California; Bill Faraci and wife Bonnie of Abilene, Texas; Donna Glaze of Abilene, Texas; Eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 am, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home on Buffalo Gap Road with graveside services following at Buffalo Gap Cemetery with the Navy Color Guard in Bill's honor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Disabled American Veterans or the charity of your choice.
